We all have different and various motivations as to our investments. Some, such as yourself, merely care about massive gains (most likely within a short period, then out - trade).

Others, apart from wishing to achieve an acceptable rate of return in line with their investment portfolio and targets, may also enter stocks for additional reasons such as injecting their funds into an entity which also aims to, for example, find potential cures to caner or other illnesses etc; or to back an Australian fledgling business with a very attractive comparative advantage and good management to launch a product into the global market place which may not only deliver growth but possibly make many ripples, which may turn into waves which potentially attracts big acquirers.

Merely trading is fine. So is investing. But expectations of daily, significant, increases day in, day out, is an unreasonable expectation - with ANY stock.
