I guess they just weren’t ready then to launch.

Ive emailed the company and they said StarLink is a different market as it requires fixed dishes at the moment and aimed at home internet.

They also said it isn’t likely to be as reliable eg in smoke haze, fog or any guarantee it will work in all locations. You’d hate to fall down a gorge and be in the one spot it isn’t covering!

I do still see it as some threat but I thought that about Nearmap and Google maps and it never eventuates and it went from 17c to $4 at one stage!

Michael C also said Amazon and many others tried this stuff and usually flops. Tesla is a bit of a question mark also, lot of hype and pazaz but let’s see how well they actually pull it off.

At the moment sales are booming and the market clearly suggests the demand is there so up to you but I wouldn’t second guess it too much but also still worth monitoring as if mobile phones can be enhanced to capture 99% of global footprint then clearly a threat.
