Good reading through all the posts after 24 hours, gives a feel for the general tone, which I would characterise as a sense of relief by many that we are starting to see some positive signs and that perhaps the worst is now behind in these first formative steps in SSN's two main plays.
Sandys, the reason for the short laterals on these first development wells is risk/reward - longer laterals will probably be more productive but until you know oil is there you wouldnt spend more $$$'s on longer laterals in case the oil isnt there. I think you'll find following wells will have longer laterals.
I note on SOA2 the ann says "Drilling operations are expected to re-commence late Friday this week" - that would be US time, which would be about right now - bring it on!
Cheers, Sharks.
PS: This weekend shaping up to be more relaxing than previous weekends - thanks due to Samson ann and the Pies beating the Cats yesterday :-)
