I would think that whoever came visiting to put forward a JV proposal, Barrick would want "first dibs".

Porgera and Mt. Kare are remote locations as we know, and Barrick has poured a lot of money into infrastructure and supply lines over the years, so why would they be happy about some "Johnny come lately" company/s piggy-backing on some of it. We are in Barrick's backyard. The deposit is also so similar to Porgera that there is probably nothing to learn about it. And last but not least they have very deep pockets.

We may be able to go it alone, but IMO the better Mt.Kare looks (with existing and future proven reserves), the more interest Barrick will show. Logical?
