    Hi Rachel and others,

Agree with all previous ideas, its bit overwhelming at first but you've started with the right attitude - asking for help from experienced traders and wanting to research and read.

Its a long journey to success and we all take different paths, all searching for the Holy Grail!

Accounting, charting and basics in psychology are all necessary elements of the learning process. I liked Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom by Van K Tharp because he gives a framework for you to develop your own style - your own trading system.

So many books to read; Mark Douglas, Stan Weinstein,O'Neil, Slater as well as Livermore, Lynch, Buffet some already mentioned. If you want to read about the myriad of systems/styles out there, look at Jack Schwager's interviews with traders (Market Wizard books)

If you want to get started with realtime live reading, read all the market sensitive announcements daily - that will enlighten you! It doesn't cost anything either - ASX.
