Activities Update
Sundance Energy Australia Limited (Sundance) is pleased to advise that the Kitson-1 well in
PEL-88 is expected to spud on or about 16 May 2005. The Century 3 drilling rig is in transit
to the well site. Kitson is the first well in Sundance’s Cooper Basin drilling program, and is
the first well to be drilled by Sundance since its successful capital raising and ASX listing on
28 April 2005.
The Kitson prospect is a large fault closed structure that includes a seismically mapped fourway
dip closure at the structure’s crest, and as much as 50 square kilometers of fault bound
closure provided by a reverse fault. The play includes five reservoir horizons — Namur,
Birkhead, Hutton, Poolowanna and Tinchoo. Potential reserves for the four-way dip-closure
range from 0.9 MMbbl to 4.6 MMbbl with a mean of 2.6 MMbbl. The larger fault-closed
structure has a potential reserve range from 5MMbbl to 42MMbbl with a mean of 20MMbbl.

Sundance’s Prospectus, a copy of which can be found on Sundance’s website at

Sundance is entitled to a 45% interest in the PEL-88 permit. Its joint venture partners in the
permit are Cooper Energy NL with 30%, Victoria Oil Exploration with 10%, Enterprise
Energy NL with 10% and Liberty Petroleum Corporation with 5%.
