Sand is a little below average for GOM sands but size doesn't necessarily mean that it won't have a good flow rate. Depends on the pressure in the reservoir.
This was never going to be an exciting well after all it was just an accelerated development well to drain this sand and get early cash flow. It made more sense to do this than drill Vermilion East which had become an expensive proposition and one not without risk.
The G#3 and G#7 wells are virtually risk free and the G#3 sand alone will give them an extra A$25 million at current gas prices over the next twelve to eighteen months for an outlay of what, maybe A$3.5 million for each well.
Strikes me that they have been pretty clever but as usual the press release sounds as though it has been a disappointment when I don't think it has.
Amazinghere is another producing well for Petsec and the price goes down. Moby looks like being non commercial and the price of the JV partners remain pretty much unaffected or go up.
