There is a difference in "sitting on the results and manipulating the security to their benefit" if they were know to be seen as negative in the eyes of the public, and giving the major holders time to jump as to knowing the results and they could either be like most companies preparing them for public release with plenty of a board room meeting taking place.. or in our case where you could be going two ways (let's hope) if they were let's say positive and you were ready to release to market and suddenly a big pharma has shown interest and this would then "throw a spanner in the works" as now they have to deal with the big pharma first then release to market as now you are dealing with two securities who's SP will now be affected by a takeover or deal etc etc.. hence the silence until an agreement has been reached for exclusivity before becoming public news.... this is then also brought to the SH to vote if need be..
