Sydney - Monday - September 14: (RWE Aust Business News) - Macarthur Coal
(ASX:MCC) has been granted the mining lease for its Middlemount mine
project, Queensland.
The project is being developed by a joint venture with the Noble
Group.
Middlemount expects construction of the coal handling and
preparation plant to begin shortly.
"The granting of the mining lease is a major milestone for the
project and enables construction and development of the project to
commence immediately," managing director Nicole Hollows said.
"The Middlemount project is the first step in seeking to achieve
our company-wide aim of doubling our production in the next five years."
