Just because you can't see shiny bits with your naked eye does not mean they are not there.
One other thing that you need to consider is that this ore body is not just one piece of copper.
It's bits of copper, silver and zinc scattered all over the place.
Not sure what drill diameter we are using in here but lets say that it's 10".
10" is 25.4cm.
Pretty small in the scheme of things isn't it?
So is there a chance of not hitting anything?
Of course there is but at the same time it doesn't mean that there is no good mineralisation 10cm from the hole.
This is why mining Co's drill so many holes.
I've read somewhere that KGHM started their mine after drilling 17 holes. Not ONE.
