Philh9, Probably to ensure that Chinese doesn't get a strangle hold on REEs or REMs (Rare Earth Metals Crown).
They cannot launch a takeover. Would need to go through the same hoops that Chinese were asked to go through when the Chinese walked away.
Doesn't mean they won't support an Australian friendly takeover.
In my opinion this is a very good and positive catalyst. Only market and time will tell how good it is.
