SYDNEY (Dow Jones)--The Australian Shareholders' Associated Ltd. on Friday called
for the resignation of Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. (ALL.AU) former chairman John Ducker from
the board following the gaming group's trading performance.
Ducker last year stepped down as chairman, but he remains on the company's board.
The shareholder lobby group said that if Ducker remains a director of Aristocrat
until July, he will become entitled to retirement benefits.
"The ASA is opposed to the concept of retirement benefits for non-executive
directors and cannot support any resolution that leads to an obligation for Aristocrat to
make this payment," ASA said in a statement
