from a legal and contractual point of view, firstly the injunction is on them using any machinery or conducting work on site. by fighting it, it shows that not being able to work on the site is significant to them and that there is loss of time = money which they are potentially losing thereby justifying the cost to fight it. 2 weeks is a lot of time given their rigs are there already and given how much time has already been lost.

the other issue is should they be successful in the high court, it would be highly likely they will go after Sumi for damages. the above costs would probably be included in that total value of damage as it is related to the original injunction
