You'd wonder why the depth intervals of significant thicknesses couldn't be stated. Presumably the 18m seam is "deep" - i.e. more than 700 m? If it was interestingly "shallow" presumably it would have been shouted as such loud and long.
It beats me why funds are being spent on drilling deep sub-bituminous coal at all. Stratigraphic holes for what purpose??? - free geological data for the Government?
