Xman, you and i have been talking about the relinguishment issues/timing for a while now. It is becoming increasingly clear to me that the JV is currently prioritising wells based upon a long term shareholder value perspective. Some have said on HC that the production profile and capex commitments of the parties are such that they don't need new discoveries right now as much as they need to know what areas have least prospectivity. From this thread it seems that the Espadon well has confirmed that oil is unlikely to have migrated westwards of the Merou and Espadon wells and therefore perhaps that area can now be comfortably relinguished.
Although i am very frustrated with the process and lack of knowledge of the whether this is a deliberate strategy, i will be much more comfortable when/if i see the relinguishments of those areas.
