"A lad straight out of Uni can create a lame website but these guys cost us 100s of thousands of dollars per year for what?"

This is true wegian, but this is way more than just a website and involves a heavy amount of infrastructure set-up, data pull + push, security, integration with other applications and hardware, and, all needing to be script tested and validated cuz any bugs after Go-Live could be disasterous!!! We've seen this first hand with QLD health pay system

Are your concerns with the "lame" website merely its design? I.e. Graphical design or the design layout? This is just ONE element in a what is a huge development lifecycle for something like this. The graphical content (if that's what your referring to) may not be appealing to us Westerners, but remember we are not the target market.
Do you still think the website is "lame" for its target market? Not having a digg, just wanting some clarification around that comment
