Personally I've never been convinced that GJ leaving date has anything to do with "the" announcement. I mean he may have considered that a deal would have been done by now when he set his retirement date but if they've been sitting on big news so GJ can leave in style then I think ASIC would want to have words about that.
I think within 3 months is more likely.
