Cause we have little information about the drilling process going ahead most of my reply will contain hypotheticals based off other drilling campaign's. So two things could happen, they could drill a test holes first up which are just test holes to recover brine samples. These do not use casing in the hole because they are, well test hole. After this a pumping test well can be set up.

If they set up a testing hole with casing to be a pumping test well, and drill to 300 meters as said on the GEO and Anns. They will probably use drilling rig to drill a diameter of about 15 inches wide for the first 100 metres or so. This will be reduced to a diameter of 12 inches after this to 300 metre depth. Probably after this they will instal perforated casing of 10 inch diameter to the 100 meter mark and then after this slotted 6 inch casing to 300 meters. After this pipe and pump would be fitted to pump brine up to surface.
But IMHO it will just be a test well.
Samples could vary between 5 and 10 samples per hole. For instance with Millennial Lithium in Argentina. "Eight one metre interval samples were collected at the following depths: 92m, 116m, 146m, 167m, 197m, 224m, 248m, and 275m.". These were then sent to department to be analysed.

    hope this helps,
    cheers
