If there was an offer at say 30 cents etc, what would RIO etc do?

Will there be counter offers? it's likely imho. So that could push the price up to around 50 cents in itself.

I think trade4profit is right in saying that it would be best if BHP took a placement at a healthy premium and then let APG get on with things until the time is right for a full takeover offer. I hope that is what happens here.
