Australian owned and based ICT services company CSG (ASX:CSV) announces that it will become a Canon dealer in Brisbane.
In addition, CSG will also become a Develop dealer in Maroochydore. Develop is an international brand manufactured by Konica Minolta and distributed in Australia by Imagetec Solutions.
CSG Managing Director, Denis Mackenzie said we are extremely happy to extend our Canon footprint to Queensland and to grow our near national Canon dealership. I am also excited about an option to become a service sub-contractor to existing Canon machines in the field in Brisbane which will significantly increase the number of customers and machines that we service.
In May 2010, CSG announced it had become a Canon dealer in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Perth with sub-contractor rights over approximately 10,500 multi function devices. This announcement today extends CSGs Canon dealerships to Brisbane and will increase the number of machines over which we have sub-contractor rights. CSG will continue to service all non-Canon customer machines in Brisbane and Maroochydore under the terms of the many thousands of service agreements we have in place. Mackenzie said
The Brisbane opportunity comes as a result of CSGs dealer agreements with Fuji Xerox Australia having come to an end. Fuji Xerox Australia has issued proceedings in the NSW Supreme Court to determine, amongst other things, whether their termination is valid and the obligations of the parties post termination. CSG is of the view that the matter should be dealt with in mediation as the agreements outline. CSG also considers that any potential damages liability to Fuji Xerox is unlikely to be material.
CSG is also announcing today that we will replace our Fuji Xerox dealership in Maroochydore immediately and in Cairns and Toowoomba by the end of September as a Develop Dealer.
