P1000, you have put my post of "research" to shame... Thats pretty well what I understood as a layperson from reading about Malampaya and shell/other journal research on the Nido limestone layers. It seems that the top section is tight, and there is a point at which it turns more porous (to do with the "older" sections of limestone, which were lain done millions of years prior to whats above.)

The shell research did seem to show that you could "see" the change in porosity on the seismic, this may be what Patillo is referring to when he says "we are expecting to hit more favourable section of limestone (paraphrased)" - ie, I take it he is referring to THEIR seismic and what they are expecting.

A weak conclusion from this would be that (please don't laugh...) NDO are exactly on schedule, and everything is going as expected??? That makes me laugh, but from what I can gather is most likely the truth!
