I worked for Australia's most complex technology company with some 450 business units and was heavily involved in every M & A tranaction for 10 years.
Some technology plays certainly did fail but others were outragiously successful.
The best defence for any major speaker manufacturer would be to buy out AKP and utilise the technology for fear that one of their competitors will do exactly the same.
This has takeover written all over it but it will not come cheap.
