Let me try and start again …

The question is whether the conference results are really going to be “news”. Or just a rehash of what we already know. And whether positive results are more likely to be accepted as a paper rather than a poster.

From a discussion with Kbear a day or so ago I think the consensus is that the PFS results are unlikely to change. And so they are not interesting to a conference at the paper level. But the OS data can and will change.

So we start to think that the presentation was accepted as a paper (not a poster) at least in part because of the new OS data. And positive results are more interesting than null results.

I suppose the connection for me is that the second remission group OS data will mature much more quickly (because cruely they will die more quickly) than those in first remission. And hence the crunch time may be closer than what we all think – because we have been using the final “OS” data (first and second remission) date as THE date. But in fact it is the second remission group OS data and when that matures that counts now for Can-004(2).

Add the fact Gray is presenting them. The PI – who was there at the start of CAN-003. Just gives a added impetus to the whole event.

So in this scenario actual real new important “news” is on the way … which leads to a buy early sell before result comes out type trading strategy. Just hadn’t spotted this before now. And hence my change in sentiment.

Now with all these ideas I plunk them into history … or context. Much repeats in the market and in shares. And patterns emerge … at some point this whole exercise moves from interesting to quirky to off with the fairies to drivel and ultimately to wings of a butterfly in China. For better or for worse .. the madness is inherent in the method.
