just watched this video, zen explains the bill payment stratergy which probably sounds better than i initially gave it credit for. rather than simply phone bills, people could use the app to pay gas/electricity/rent bills etc...
the main point of the telephonica deal seems to be marketting / penetration. this should get the name of airpocket out to millions of people as quickly as possible...
im still pretty sure there will be money laundering problems. for example, if a person is literally trying to launder money from one country to another, all that seems to be required is a pre-paid or otherwise un-identifiable phone number in each country. the transaction would be completely transparent as zen discusses, anybody could watch the transaction take place, but they would have no idea about who the people are dropping off and picking up the money. would the air agents or the company be at fault? would governments try to prevent this from happening?
