Company directors and associates across the boardare engaged in insider trading in Australia, according to new analysis by theAustralian National University (ANU).

“My results show these contrary trades were beingmade with non-public knowledge, privy only to company insiders, about thefuture performance of the firm. This most certainly amounts to insider tradingunder the law,” lead researcher Dean Katselas said in a release issued toBusiness Insider Australia.

“If the news had the potential to boost the shareprice, I found the directors were selling their shares when normally, this isthe time you’d expect them to be buying,”
