Tanami Gold ramp-up at Coyote going to plan

Sydney - Wednesday - March 12: (RWE Australian Business News) -
Tanami Gold NL (ASX:TAM) today confirmed the production ramp-up at its
Coyote Gold Project was proceeding to plan.
Executive chairman Mr Denis Waddell told Corporatefile in an
Open Briefing, "we are on track to achieve annualised production of
50,000 ounces by June 2008 and then annualised production of 70,000
ounces by June 2009 as the higher-grade Coyote underground ramps up".
"We had an excellent production result for the December 2007
quarter when we completed mining of the higher-grade material from the
bottom of the Coyote open pit.
"Production in the December 2007 quarter was 36pc above budget.
"Since then, the commencement of mining at the Sandpiper and
Kookaburra open pits (Bald Hill region) and the decline advance have
been slower than budgeted due to road closures during the wet season,
which has caused delays in getting mining equipment to site," he said.
"Without access to the Kookaburra and Sandpiper deposits located
35km north of Coyote, we've had to process more low-grade ore than we
expected through January and February.
"However, with the weather improving and the roads now open, the
mining equipment has arrived on site and mining commenced at Kookaburra
and Sandpiper towards the end of February, which enabled us to stockpile
ore before the haul road was completed last week," Mr Waddell said.
