@brassmad, why would it be harmful? We are the shareholders, we have every right to know how many products our company is selling.

It's not detrimental to their relationships. Distributors/retail chains will only purchase what they can afford, and they oversee different re-sellers.

Other companies that make and sell products announce "that XYZ have placed an order o purchase 100,000 units."

I would think it's more harmful knowing/announcing that these three chains/distributors have only placed an order for say 100 units each.
