I spoke at length with a miner friend last night over a couple of cold ones. He has worked in underground hard rock gold mining in Australia. He was a drill and blast guy. He described the decline and drives concepts to me in detail which was really interesting. I asked him about dilution and he agreed that with drill and blast there will be dilution. But he mentioned that a mate of his has worked in "nuggety gold" mines and they used a different method. He described it as using a chain saw to remove blocks on the vein. Then they blast the rest out and move on. So they end up with two streams of ore - one super high. Not sure if I understood it all or whether it is applicable to Cascavel.
