My recollection was that the coring run was aiming to get 18m of core but that it suffered the mech failure after only a metre or two. None of that core was recovered of course as the fishing operations were unsuccessful.

Thanks for that info about the limitations of logging, always helps to have people like you add to our knowledge. And yes the flow test will be critical.

Definition of "live oil" from the Oilfield Glossary:

"Oil containing dissolved gas in solution that may be released from solution at surface conditions. Live oil must be handled and pumped under closely controlled conditions to avoid the risk of explosion or fire."

And as far as the bit change, I'm not sure how much you get from a drill bit at these depths (and I suppose it depends on the formation characteristics and also any effect from the sidetrack operations) but they have drilled some 60m with this bit since kicking off the sidetrack and I guess it was just due to be changed out.
