partially agree with that.. they can add a lot of value by taking on exploration risk and selling to producers, but at the end of the day the market is only going to take MPO seriously when it has a decent cashflow positive project under its belt... ie a very positive cashflow project that can fund very aggressive exploration/drilling without the need for cap raisings...
