Accountant to the rescue. I explained this in detail about a month ago, commitment isn't purchase order, isn't shipped order, isn't invoiced order, isn't payment receipt. All of these can be weeks or months apart. 4Cs are cash basis (slowest to reflect progress) while the annual report is accruals based (second slowest to reflect progress). Both are historic/backward looking. To be honest a production or shipping schedule would provide more relevant information at this stage than a financial report. No disrespect to my profession though.
