@Olig33I see - so it is the China risk narrative time again.
I have lost count how many times the "generalized fear of regulatory risk in China" has been drummed up in relation to A2M, geo-political tensions etc. going all the way back to 2018 or so. Haven't heard much lately from the barrage of posters on here claiming NZ infant formula was about to be banned, always just on the precipice of it, for all of 2020, and yet.. nothing.
Every time, no one seems to remember all the things that have happened during that time that completely upend that narrative - achieving SAMR registration; the fact that there are various state-aligned companies benefit with every tin of A2M produces and sells (e.g. our distribution partner, China State Farms, Bright Dairy which owns a significant stake in Synlait). China Animal Husbandry Group which retains a stake in Mataura Valley Dairy. And this is all in addition to the fact that China simply cannot produce enough milk powder on its own, and NZ accounts for something like 40% of all IF imports in China.
I have no issue with people responding to what they perceive as a risk but just saying it should be put in perspective - and ask yourself, has there ever been any action taken by China toward A2M (or NZ IF in general), or even a hint of any action, to justify it?
