ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS INSTALLED
IN SHIELD WELLS AT BIBBLEWINDI MULTILATERAL PILOT
Electric submersible pumps (ESPs) were installed in
the build section of the shield wells at each side of
the Bibblewindi multi-lateral pilot. The build section
of the well is the curved section ahead of the lateral
well drilled through the target coal seam to intersect
the vertical production well. This initiative took early
advantage of advancements in ESP design that have
improved potential for use of ESP technology in coal
seam gas applications.
By year end, the additional dewatering capability
associated with installation of the ESPs contributed
to gas production from the Bibblewindi multi-lateral
pilot exceeding 1.5 million cubic feet per day. It is
anticipated the gas production rate will continue to
climb as water pressure within the Bohena coal seam
is progressively brought down from present levels of
around 500 metres of head.
● SEISMIC ACQUISITION
The Company has received approval for an
88 kilometre seismic survey within the Narrabri
Gas Project area, the purpose of which is to:
● provide infill data linking vintage seismic lines
to the north and south of the Rosevale area so
that drilling opportunities can be firmed up; and
● investigate Permian sedimentary development
in the northwestern region of PEL 238.
The seismic survey will take place in conjunction
with surveys approved for other acreage operated
by the Company. Although requisite Government
approvals have been secured for the surveys, a final
commitment by the Company to undertake work has
been delayed while cooperative arrangements are
agreed with Local Government and communities.
● DEWHURST PRODUCTION PILOT
The Dewhurst lateral production pilot incorporates
three parallel lateral wells, each intersecting a single
vertical production well and all targeting the Bohena
coal seam. Two production wells were operated for
a short period during the financial year to collect
data for design of an on-site water storage facility.
After construction of the water storage facility the
Dewhurst Pilot will be operated on a temporary basis
to confirm overall water and gas production profiles.
Temporary operation will provide data sufficient for
gas reserves certification purposes.
This is our reserves upgrade which will be released as part of the independent reserves review in the IER and which Monsters highlighted from the November 2010 announcement...
Now, there is an outside chance, there will be an additional update from Tintsfield in the IER however this is unlikely in the absence of another bidder imo.
