Canning Basin — USG & CSG

OBL was given a section 38 determination by the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT) concerning the grant of Permit 5/07-8 EP (“Derby Block”), including prospective unconventional shale gas and shale oil(USG/USO), on 1 February 2013. This Future Act award was appealed by the NT Claimants in March 2013. The Appeal was heard by the Federal Court on 30 July 2013 in a one day hearing.
Although the Judge has reserved his decision, the Company remains confident that the Appeal will be dismissed, with a formal decision expected during the December quarter 2013. Subject to a favourable decision, the permit will then be subject to grant by the WA Government.
