It's simple maths. You have 10 respirators and 20 patients needing one. Someone has to decide who gets one. In Italy if you're elderly or took a little too long to get to hospital say goodbye to your family. .....About 430 people died in the last day in Italy
Why do you think everything is being shut down - Schools, sporting events etc???......Hospitals in Australia want to avoid having to make theses decisions. Slow the spread and give the health system a chance.
Don't be flipant about the risks of this virus. The impact on GOR is likely minimal, and if operations were to stop then it would likely not be for too long......but act with caution and change your behavior.
