I was thinking along those lines myself and then thought given that the majors stuffed it up with Mauritania, why would they stuff it up again. I mean, no matter how big WPL is, they aren't going to let that amount of oil go begging to another major.
Although HDR learned a lot with the current venture, taking on a whole province it not for the faint hearted.
Ching has raised some good points as always. I remember the good old days when he was a prolific poster on HDR. Shame we lost him in these most important phases of the companies development. Come back Ching all is forgiven.
