Interesting perspective that you believe the sales team got ahead of themselves selling too quickly. That is a risk. The counter to that they ramped up to build out the ecosystem and land grab before the App launch. Both scenarios are plausible.
I would be interested in why you came down on the side of the fence of management losing control of their sales team rather than them ramping up expansion.
