I'm not an accountant but isn't deferred revenue a debit under cash, whereas BIG booked them as credits? Is this "illegal"? Once the customer accepts the services rendered, only then it swaps columns - debits Deferred Revenue and credits Cash Receipts? So the bulk of their cash revenue were in fact not proper accounting? I'm a bit behind on the reading but I'm sure this has been covered off accurately many times over...
