Via leaked emails, Shapiro gets inside the Big Un's Sunshine Coast boiler room, in which young, underpaid cold callers helped provide leads that the company booked as cash receipts, even though video services were allegedly rarely provided and which were never paid for by those customers. And those cash receipts that fuelled Big Un's 500 per cent revenue growth in one year came from finance companies – with whom the company had undisclosed arrangements to cover Big Un's invoices.
The company wasn't actually making much money – just accruing credit.
