FOR those who have been following the saga of Greenland Minerals and Energy, next month's annual meeting in Perth should be interesting.

Full Disclosure has questioned just who owns the major stake in the uranium explorer. The largest holding is in the name of an Isle of Man nominee company called GCM Nominees, which owns 15.73 per cent of Greenland Minerals. A United Arab Emirates outfit called Gravner owns 6.7 per cent.

If combined, that could push the combined interests beyond the 20 per cent threshold that requires a takeover bid under the Corporations Act.

Suggestions that Mihran Shemessian's Exchange Minerals empire is behind both GCM and Gravner have been met with much grumpiness in recent weeks, and even sparked an angry letter from managing director Roderick McIlree, which was sent to a select group of Greenland Minerals shareholders and not released to the ASX.

The letter, which is on Greenland Minerals letterhead, distanced the company ''from anyone called Shemessian or similar''. Full Disclosure notes, however, that, according to the letter, the company address for Greenland Minerals in London is ''47 Charles Street, Mayfair, W1J 5EL''.

It's a quaint little office in Mayfair, opposite a pub called The Only Running Footman.

The registered office for Exchange Minerals in London is, you guessed it, 47 Charles Street, Mayfair, W1J 5EL.

We wonder if business deals are done at the water cooler or over the road at the pub?
