Yup, and the suggestion is that taking guns off American citizens (and leaving them with the US government and its numerous agencies) will ultimately be a good thing for those citizens.
I mean look at how things turned out for citizens of other nations who handed over their guns. Frequent genocides within a few decades but, otherwise, not too bad!
