Yet many in here are convinced that asylum seekers are simply economic aspirants, wanting a cruise on the water from Indonesia to Australia to a better life.
They don't realise that thousands of people are being displaced from war zones. THAT is the push factor.
Other nations are taking many hundreds of thousands of refugees and they're not wealthy nations.
They don't turn the refugees away.
Yet there are places in Australia like regional areas which desperately need to increase population and have workers on the land.
Sometimes I'm ashamed to be Australian TBH.
