I actually know of a woman who flew here to australia and lied to department of immigration however she got in I reckon we should make ALL applications for asylum on Australian soil ILLEGAL whether they come here by boat or by plane. Put simply if someone amplies for asylum on australian soil they should NEVER get citizenship Only people living in camps in other countries should be eligible for citizenship. that way we maintain our obligations to the UNHCR to take 14,000 or so refugees and stop all the queue jumping we are seeing at the moment the people who come here by boat and by plane may be claiming to be refugees but the fact of the matter is that they are putting themselves and their families before others who are more deserving of coming to this country.
