I sympathise for these people's situation but they are queue jumpers. They get in before other people who apply through the correct channels. The trickle of refugees is starting to become a downpour and soon it will be a flood. Howard's refugee policy was tough but it was the only way to manage a difficult situation. Rudd needs to toughen up the policy but he will not because it will not be politically acceptable to his party.
