I could be wrong, but the people arriving here are not "refugees" in the true sense of the word.
They are relativelly well-off and informed people in their homeland with enough money to travel to a nearby country and buy an illegal boat ticket to Australia and often arrive here with money in their pockets and rings on their fingers.
The TRUE refugees are still in or near their homeland starving to death.
