How do you arrive at a fair valuation of up to $400m for a company without any drugs in a clinical program? One other peptide company, well known to the forum, provides a point of comparison. Peptidream was back in the news last week with the announcement of its latest billion-dollar drug discovery deal. Yet, for all the deals and all the hype about macrocyclics and constrained peptides, Peptidream has just one candidate that has advanced into Phase 1 clinical trials.
The company with a market cap of US$2.7B is more-or-less just a large library of peptides with a peptide discovery platform system.
