Fortuantely my family and I are in a position where the interest rate rise will not have any real adverse effect
and I doubt to many here on hotcopper who have spare funds to be able to play the markets will be bothered either.
However there are a lot of people that will feel it, yes some have put themselves into a position by wanting the bigger house and car and big screen tv and everything else.
But there are also many people who are struggling just trying to do the best they can. My 2 sisters and I were raised by my mother who received no support and at times worked 3 jobs to raise us and buy her own home. $10 extra a week (even what ever the dollar equivilant dollar amount would have been in the mid 70s) would have been crippling to my mother at the time.
There are still decent hard working people in the same position today.
As I said the interest rate rise and things like paying a bit extra for fuel are no real problem to me now but I have not forgotten what it was like and still is for some
