Well I'm only engaging with the question in principle, because I'm currently out of EOS and not eligible to participate. But I've been waiting for the right moment to buy, so this might be the time.

But in principle, a reason to pay a little more than you need to is that if you participate at the placement price then most of your money goes directly into the company's bank account and helps to underwrite asset value of what you're buying. If you buy on market then none of your money goes to the company. That might be worth a few cents to some investors. To me, I'd say somewhere between 5 and 10 cents on this offer.
