" Times have indeed changed - whether for the better is debatable. If one is so concerned about climate and pollution and so forth, good housekeeping should start from one's own home. "

Of course times have changed. For the better by a large margin.

It is pretty ridiculous to suggest they haven't.

Yes, we should have a hard look at how we live our lives. That's where science, engineering and technology comes in. Nothing wrong with having devices, tvs etc. They help us do things much more efficiently.

E.g. How much more efficient are businesses because of mobile phones and the internet ?

We are seeing with renewable energy technologies that the waste/supply issue is being dealt with at the front end. Finding ways to make products that are easily recyclable so that their materials can be used again and again.

The days of making things and chucking them in landfill are changing.

We are developing a more circular, sustainable economy which will help insulate us from the boom and busts of the old days.

The future is very bright , imo. smile.png
