    I've often wondered why we haven't been able to do more with this concept ---

    how many times do you see that you put energy into something and magically - you can get more out?


    I used to sit and think how we could harness something similar to this - on the north coast of Tasmania - one has Bass Strait to the north - then, just behind the dunes - there's large bodies of fresh water underground

    there's a barrier that geologists have a term for which I can never remember - that barrier keeps the two waters separated --

    I always wondered if you could just stick a wire in the ocean, run a cable and stick a wire in the ground behind the dunes - and, voila!

    combine that with the above battery - and, one has a renewable source - which isn't anywhere near as weather dependent as our other renewables -

    indeed - if the same trick could be pulled on the West Coast of Tassie - one could put that in the extremely high reliability chart

    but, I'm sure that I'm not across the details - if it was worth doing - someone would probably have done it already
